Dolce Gabbana goes on the iphone

It seems pretty obvious that, right now, live streaming of catwalk is on trend - see my previous posts about Burberry and London Fashion Week. Dolce & Gabbana - the label has already been developing a strong online brand experience with its website Swide - goes beyond the simple live streaming as both its mainline show and the younger diffusion brand D&G will be exclusively live on the iphone for the very first time.

Download the app here.

Oh by the way guys, the show is today at 1pm, don't miss it!

Burberry 3D show

London womenswear schedule comes to an end and Christopher Bailey unveiled yesterday his autumn/winter 2010 collection for the second consecutive season in London, at the Chelsea College of Art. Following the lead of Avatar, the British label decided to stream its show in 3D at private events all around the world. Unfortunately I have not attended any of these very special events, I have enjoyed the 2D version available from the micro website though. Mister Bailey himself introduces us to the project at the beginning of the video... It is a bit like being front row at Burberry, minus the paparazzi and the freebies.

House of Holland's app

Designer Henry Holland is launching a new BlackBerry app this Fashion Week. BlackBerry users will exclusively be able to order pieces from the House of Holland slogan T-shirt collection as soon as they hit the catwalk by downloading the app from www.houseofholland.co.uk/blackberry

As far as I know this has never been done before, let's see how many tees Henry manage to sell next Saturday then!

Speakers include marketing and online experts from Create The Group, Google, Mastercard, Puma, Diane Von Furstenberg.

Vanessa Bruno's Bel Ete

Le Bel Ete - understand here Beautiful Summer - is the beautiful movie by Stephanie Di Giusto for Vanessa Bruno's Spring Summer 2010 collection, live now on the fashion designer's website. The director represented by Partizan perfectly recreates Vanessa Bruno's poetic style: the muse Lou Doillon dances on a melody played on piano by Gonzales, loads of nude colors and natural locations for a pure and dreamy feel.

Do press 'Play' over and over again...

Motion men wear Wrangler

Wow! The new Wrangler micro website for the Blue Bell Jeans SS10 collection is absolutely genius. Motion men getting their clothes off with a simple drag of the cursor. I have never seen something similar, very interesting interaction. Created by the Swedish agency Kokokaka (which has also recently worked for Burberry), the site also features a downloadable soundtrack and clip of the best scenes.

10/10!

AnOther LOVES

A few months ago Another Magazine did their first step onto the digital ground with the launch of the website Anothermag.com. Here comes AnOther LOVES, the latest addition to the magazine’s website. The concept is to create ‘a living library of all that's luxurious and limited edition sourced by AnOther's global network of contributors’, some sort of interactive and inspiring platform on which Jefferson Hack’s team shares their current whishlist.

Think: Hannah Marshall lambskin envelope clutch, bicycle and Leica M7 by Hermes, Gareth Pugh quill, Dries Van Noten plait beaded collar, Swarovski head phones, Shawn Lovell Tree bed… Sweet.

Each object of desire can be tweeted and shared on Facebook. Of course. Each product is then linked to its own site of origin, which usually translates to a place where you can buy said objects. AnOther LOVES turns out to be not only a daily inspiration source but a complete new intermediary in the trade of luxury pieces and limited editions.

Resonance by Louis Vuitton

To commemorate the opening of the Louis Vuitton store in Ulan Bator - the first in Mongolia - Louis Vuitton has asked the artist Abdesslam Oulahbib to create an original piece of music inspired by the traditional Mongolian musical culture.

Resonance - the product of this collaboration - is a unique digital project which celebrates the universal beauty of sound and sight and gives everyone a chance to wander and lose themselves in an inspiring journey within earthly boundaries. Particularly beautiful.

McQueen does his 1st streaming

After Burberry in London, it is now time for Alexander McQueen to stream his Spring Summer 2010 show live.

L'enfant terrible of English fashion is collaborating with ShowStudio to deliver the show entitled Plato’s Atlantis live from Paris. At 2:15 pm EST  today (8:15 pm Paris time), you can log on to watch an exclusive interview of McQueen with Nick Knight and watch the show.

In an exclusive interview with WWD, McQueen said, 'It’ll be like live theater — at home. The audience at home is actually going to see more than the guests at the show. We’re filming from a load of different angles, and two big cameras will actually be a part of the performance.'

And if you just can't get enough you could also follow the man on Twitter...

Another Shop

The online store for AnOther Magazine has launched featuring a range of limited edition and exclusive products designed and crafted by the likes of Peter Pilotto, Raf Simons, Gareth Pugh... A very minimal yet seductive website created by CreateTheGroup a 'full service interactive' agency that has been working with the Another team for quite a while now...

Spotted - a Macbook sleeve designed by Gareth Pugh (£76). Good news if your internet connection is not working properly you can still find those products at places like Colette, Liberty, International Gallery Beams in Tokyo and Opening Ceremony...

A MOBILE DOWNLOAD VIDEO FOR VUITTON

Takashi Murakami, you remember this name right? Back in 2003 the Japanese artist came up with a special-edition pattern to be used on those famous Louis Vuitton handbags...

Then  people started to call him the new Warhol (lame isn't it?!), and then there was that big Murakami exhibit in L.A. in 2007, then it went to Brooklyn, then Murakami did Kanye’s “Graduation” cover... And now, well... the whole thing starts again with a new series of little wallets in a multicolored print that, let’s be honest, looks almost exactly like the colorful 2003 print...

Anyway. To celebrate 6 years of collaboration Murakami and Vuitton also worked on a (slighly annoying) five-minute video called Superflat First Love, available as a mobile download in Japan.

VUITTON x MURAKAMI QR CODE

I heard those abstract QR codes are the codebars of the future... What is it all about? To make it short a QR code stores URLs, when you see a QR code (in the street, in a magazine...) you scan the QR code with the camera of your phone (FYI you must have a camera phone equipped with the correct reader software), your phone browser will immediately launch the programmed URLs... Yey! Very common in Japan they basically look like this:

Yes I do agree, not so attractive.

Here comes the stylish version, the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami QR code

Produced by Tokyo based creative agency SET, this colourful code features one of Murakami’s characters and the classic LV pattern. Kawai!
